What is LED lighting?

LED, which stands for Light Emitting Diode, is the preferred choice of lighting in private homes, partly due to the improvements in LED quality. LED bulbs consist of multiple light-emitting diodes – small electrical components that allow electricity to flow in one direction. When current flows through a diode, it emits light. Since LEDs are very compact, it has become possible to integrate them into places where lighting previously wasn’t feasible.

In addition to being a more sustainable choice – as LED lights are free from harmful substances like mercury – LED lighting also offers several practical benefits:

  • Energy efficient: LED lighting uses significantly less energy – up to 85% less than incandescent and halogen bulbs. This not only helps reduce energy costs but also lowers your carbon footprint.

  • Long lifespan and durability: LED bulbs often last up to 25 times longer than traditional bulbs, saving you frequent replacements and maintenance. Our LED bulbs have a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours.

  • Quick and effective illumination: You get full brightness instantly, making it ideal for areas where reliable lighting is essential.

  • Adjustable lighting: You can adjust both the color temperature and brightness, making LED a versatile choice – from functional task lighting to cosy ambient lighting.

  • Design flexibility: The technology allows for slimmer, more compact designs, making LED a versatile light source. The minimal heat output also makes them safe and ideal for installation in tight spaces such as drawers and furniture.

High quality with a focus on color rendering

Loevschall’s LED products are developed with a focus on high light quality to ensure an optimal lighting experience. All of our lighting solutions have a minimum CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 90 – with many reaching 95 or more. For comparison, natural sunlight has a CRI value of 100.

Why does this matter? For instance, if you’re preparing food in your kitchen under a light with a low CRI value, meat may look grey and vegetables dull. High light quality is therefore essential – both for your experience and the end result. Our lighting solutions ensure that colors in your surroundings appear natural and vibrant, whether you’re cooking or getting ready in front of the mirror.

SingleWhite or MultiWhite®

At Loevschall, we offer lighting solutions using both SingleWhite and MultiWhite® technology. SingleWhite provides a fixed color temperature, while MultiWhite® lets you adjust the warmth of the light – from cool to warm – based on your needs. This gives you unique flexibility that can be adapted to different situations and times of day, and can also help influence your mood and circadian rhythm.

Adjustable lighting via controller and app

Almost all of Loevschall’s lighting is dimmable – with the exception of drawer and sensor lights. You can control the brightness via wall switch, remote control, or app. If you have MultiWhite®, you can also control the colour temperature using the remote or app.

Additionally, Loevschall’s controller program makes it easy to connect your lighting to the rest of your home’s Smart Home system – or simply get started with smart lighting. If you’re already using Philips Hue at home, we offer compatible controllers.
